China offers superior medical instruction at extremely low rates. Unlike India, places in medical universities in China are plentiful. Students also have a choice of specializing in Chinese medicine or western medicine.

The standard course program in medicine lasts four years. Foreign students who do not have proficiency in Chinese are required to study Chinese in their first year and take the HSK exam at the end of the first year to prove their language competence. In all, it should take a foreign student no more than 5 years to graduate with an MBBS degree.
