The Chinese Language Institute was honoured to receive a delegation from the Chinese embassy in New Delhi and CCTV, a Chinese TV station, on 7 October 2005. The Chinese delegation was led by the Press attaché Ms. Yang. Here is a selection of photos from their visit. Please click on the photos to enlarge.
The delegation spent an afternoon visiting with the students and management of CLI. CCTV then also filmed some of our students speaking in Chinese and writing Chinese characters. So impressed were they with the professional set-up, infrastructure and quality of instruction that CCTV then broadcast this program within China and the Chinese embassy decided to refer all inquiries they receive on studying Chinese to us. Today, if you call the Chinese embassy and ask for a recommendation to study Chinese, they will tell you to get in touch with us.
Moreover, the Chinese embassy (click to open) has also introduced us on their website and in their October 2005 newsletter. In case the link is not working, the webpage can also be downloaded here.
On 15 December 2005, CCTV again interviewed some of our students and Director: Mrs. Purnima Garg to comment on Indians' perception of China and India-China relations. A short video of this interview, held at India Gate, can be downloaded here.
